Velvet Rope is the World’s Greatest Janet Jackson tribute band. This live show band captures the essence and energy of a live Janet Jackson show. With live musicians, live vocals and heavy choreography, Velvet Rope puts on a show that won’t soon be forgotten!
This band is the closest you can get to a Janet Jackson Concert without actually being at one. The band travels just like all our other bands and is available for all Special Events and Concerts. Velvet Rope just successfully put on a concert in Atlanta that helped to drive donations to ‘My Sister’s House’ -a women’s and children’s shelter in the Atlanta area. One of the missions of this band is to contribute to local charities through its concerts. We will search for a deserving local charity in the city where the concert is and then help to drive donations to that charity. We’ve been in the business of Special Events for a large number of years. We’ve participated in tons of weddings, concerts, anniversary parties, rehearsal dinners, company parties….the list can go on and on. Doing this, we have been privy to a multitude of conversations about the best way to do an event. What we’re amazed at is how often vendors (florists, facilities, caterers…yes, even bands) assume they already know what’s most important to the client. Many vendors go in with a “tried and true” pre-planned idea of how that particular clients event “should” go. Now, while we believe experience is a major plus, some “experienced” people develop an arrogance that creates a disconnect with the client. Bands are guilty of this as well. Most bands come with a pre-planned list of songs in the order that they will play them (known as a set list). This set-list is the same for every event. Flash Entertainment Services does not do this. We treat each client individually. We ask the questions we need to make sure we know what’s really important to our clients. We believe they deserve nothing less.
The music field is filled with musicians, singers and entertainers. In a group of twenty, you’ll probably find at least 5 of them play a musical instrument or sing. It is a dream career for many aspiring musicians. What separates a ‘staving artist’ from a ‘pro entertainer’ is a factor called the business of music. What the pro’s know is that they have to approach music like any other career-With same tenacity, passion and dedication. Even though it’s music, it is still work…Fun and exciting , but still work. Otherwise, music will not be your career. Instead, it will be a hobby.

We’re spotlighting one of our Special Event Bands- Muddy Sandals. Muddy Sandals is our 5-piece dance and party band. The band features male and female front vocalists as well as a three piece rhythm section. This band, also, comes with the ability to add a horn section. Then it becomes a 7-piece party band! This band can accommodate for a variety of venues. Every once in a while, we might give you a band hunting tip or two. Today’s tip will involve the art of weeding out the riff raff (I know… an old phrase, but it fits perfectly). Almost every band you see these day claims to be ‘the ultimate’, ‘the best’ and ‘the greatest’. But, seriously, most are just mediocre. You’ll, also, see many bands that claim to be ‘high-energy’ or ‘energetic’ when they do the same two step (if that) all night long. I guess some people have very different definitions of energy. Let’s do a 101 course on weeding out the riff raff (lol…I said it again). Here we go:
If you are checking out a band online, you can see if other people describe them as the greatest. Check references. The ‘greatest’ bands won’t have any problems giving you names of people who will back up their claims. Also, as far as the energy claims, examine the video to see if the band is doing the same couple of moves throughout the length of the video. Check to see if the band is shown dancing to the one song that they dare to break a sweat on for the duration of the video while about 6 different songs play.

Here we go! Today is that ‘special day’ for millions of people-Feb 14th-otherwise known as Valentine’s Day. Flash Entertainment Services is in the business of ‘special days’. We help make ‘special days’ memorable for many people many times each year. Weddings are special, Anniversaries are special, Graduations are special and simply celebrating is special. While everyone may not have a wedding reception, anniversary party or experience a graduation celebration, we all experience Valentine’s Day. Unwhittingly or not, we are forced to think about that four letter word-L.O.V.E. Our wish for you today is that you make everyday special, that your V-day is filled with LOVE and that you continue celebrating life experiencing many more special moments in your lifetime. Recently one of our bands, Complete Desire, did a show for a company and its’ clients. The show was fabulous! A fun-filled event that was not high brow in the least, but filled with people who seemed to love their jobs and those they worked with. While there, I started contemplating on some long-held business philosophies that we, here, at Flash Entertainment Services believe in. We believe that if you treat your employees well, then they will, in turn, treat your clients well. Sort of like the ‘Happy Wife, Happy Life’ theory !! (We can explore that subject deeper in a later blog…(-: …) Good relationships are mutual relationships. This is true for personal as well as business. There has to be mutual respect and appreciation for one another. Businesses (and personal relationships) that fail to learn this…fail. It’s Flash Entertainment Services policy to treat people well—All people— and that includes our employees. You know what they say…’Happy band…Happy Fans’!? Just kidding. They don’t really say that. I just made that up. LOL
As much as some people try to make us believe, One size does not fit all! Everybody doesn’t like chocolate or strawberries or (gasp) Jon Bon Jovi! Seriously though, the point I’m trying to make is everyone has different tastes, likes and dislikes. Therefore, every band is not a great fit for everyone. Finding the band that works for you is a matter of knowing who you are and what message you want to convey at your event. Mind you, great special event bands are more able to fulfill your desires because they are usually more flexible in their styles. They are able to cater each event to each client mainly because they have years of experience and a very extensive repertoire of songs to pull from. This makes it so much easier to create an event (Wedding Reception, Anniversary Party, Corporate Event…etc) that is specifically catered toward that particular person and their party guests. So don’t be afraid to get to know your band—Ask questions—a good band knows how important this decision is to you. Find your perfect fit.
It has been said (and with good reason) that music is the soundtrack of life. We mark so many of our special occasions with music-Birthdays, Weddings, Graduations…etc; How many times have you heard a song and instantly remember where you where when you first heard it? How many of us hears a song and are instantly transported to a time in the past…remembering an old girlfriend or boyfriend, your first kiss or how nervous you were at your first dance? This is why Flash Entertainment Services and our special event bands take what we do in providing great music for those special moments in our clients lives SERIOUSLY. It’s not hard when you love what you do…and we do!
